The walnut is considered a real green pharmacy, because you can use, in therapeutic purposes, everything from this tree: the leaves, fruits, green peels when the nuts fall in autumn. The walnut leaves are harvested, because they are very concentrated in nutrients. Right after you’ve harvest the leaves, let them dry in thin layer on a white paper, in a shady and well-ventilated place.
When they burst in your hand with noise they can be stored in paper bags. From dry leaves, you can make an effective ointment to treat wounds, sunburns and oily skin.
– 15 g of dried leaves
– 100 ml of sunflower oil
– 15 g of beeswax
Method of preparation
1. Crush finely the leaves.
2. Let them to soak for 7 days in sunflower oil, at room temperature.
3. Boil them in Bain-marie for 3 hours.
4. Strain them through a piece of gauze.
5. Add the beeswax, and boil again in Bain-marie for 30 minutes.
